Kristiana Bregu is a nutritionist-dietitian graduate from the department of Sciences of Nutrition and Dietetics (International Hellenic University) and a postgraduate student in the direction of medical-clinical nutrition (department of medicine –
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki).

In her thesis she dealt with the subject “Nutrition with low glycemic index”
regarding the glycemic response of the morning meal to normal, pre-
diabetic and diabetic patients.


During her studies she voluntarily participated in the “Physical Activity Study recording via electronic sensors and electronic Physical Activity journal» in the context of the research program ESPA “Alliance for Health-Nutrition”, during the period 01/2014 and in dietary interventions carried out under the ESPA program “Alliance for Health-Nutrition” in the Municipality of Thessaloniki in 2014.

She has practiced her internship in a dietary clinic specialized in metabolic syndrome, gastrointestinal disorders and autoimmune disease, with which she continued to collaborate for the next three years at first voluntarily and later as a paid employee-nutritionist.

In particular, she has been involved in dietary intervention in physiological and clinical conditions such as cardiovascular disease, thyroiditis, anemia, neurological conditions including epilepsy, gouty arthritis, fatty liver, depression, anxiety disorder, cancer, hormonal imbalances in women such as polycystic ovary syndrome and premenstrual syndrome, dietary support for autoimmune diseases (Hashimoto, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, scleroderma, lupus erythematosus). She also dealt extensively with metabolic syndrome that involves abdominal obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia and insulin resistance as well as nutritional support for gastrointestinal diseases such as Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, constipation, gastroesophageal reflux disease, celiac disease, as well as the treatment of dietary allergies and intolerances.


During her stay in the dietary clinic, she conducted two researches on diabetes and the glycemic response of food to normal, pre-diabetic and diabetic subjects.
She was a research fellow, a scientific secretary and speaker at the Experiential Seminar on “Metabolic Syndrome in Children and Adolescents: Integrated Health Intervention” at the 28th Conference “A healthy mind body” – A holistic approach to child and adolescent health, held on 6-9 October 2016 in Trikala.

She then investigated non-celiac gluten sensitivity in children and adults,and also participated in a research that was conducted in collaboration with the neuropediatric department of the Papageorgiou Hospital in Thessaloniki regarding epilepsy and vitamin D in children, for which he was awarded. She participated in the presentations of the results of these two studies on “Non-Celiac Disease Sensitivity in Gluten in Children” and “Vitamin D and Epilepsy”, respectively, announced at the 29th Conference of the Greek Society of Social Paediatrics and Health Promotion on 14-17 September 2017 in Kavala-Greece.
